Apple Cider Donut Bread

Start by preparing the homemade apple pie spice that will be used in the bread.
Homemade Apple Pie Spice
¼ c. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground cardamom

In a small bowl mix all ingredients together. Store in an airtight container.

Bread
1 ¼ c. apple cider
1 large egg
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 ½ c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. apple pie spice
½ tsp. salt

Topping
¼ c. apple cider
½ c. sugar
2 tsp. apple pie spice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In mixing bowl, whisk together apple cider, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

To the wet mixture, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and salt. Mix until combined. The batter will be thin.

Spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray then pour batter into loaf pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean and bread is golden brown.

When bread is done, remove from oven and cool in pan for 10 minutes.

While the bread is still warm, pour the apple cider over the loaf in the pan.

In a small bowl, combine the sugar and apple pie spice.

Prepare a sheet pan with a large sheet of parchment paper. Sprinkle with some sugar and spice mix.

Carefully remove the bread from the pan onto the topping. Sprinkle with remaining topping and rotate the loaf to thoroughly coat all sides.

Place on cutting board and allow bread to cool completely before slicing.
