Fiestaware Seasons

As an avid collector of Homer Laughlin's Fiestaware, I have place settings galore! I started collecting in the late-1990's and anxiously anticipate the new color and style releases each year. I also keep my eye on what colors and styles retire. Retired pieces are some of my favorite things to look for in thrift shops and antique stores.
To maximize the enjoyment my collection, I rotate the pieces in use by season. My cabinet for everyday use comfortably houses 12 place settings. In addition, I have glass front cabinets for displaying color stories and displays of specialty pieces.
This summer I curated a collection of blue, green, and purple. It was a lovely color combination!

For this seasonal change I pulled everything out (except for the pastels) and "played" with my dishes to find the color combination that spoke to me for Fall. Keeping it to 12 place settings, I pulled together rich shades of red, orange, earthy greens, brown, gray, and black.
The cabinets are freshly organized, and I look forward to using a refreshed set of colors.
